Meghan Markle's As Ever products were brutally savaged by a royal commentator who tried them and claimed the duchess failed to "deliver". The Duchess of Sussex launched her brand last Wednesday, and within minutes, all of her products were snapped up.

As Ever's collection featured nine products, eight of which were originally available for purchase; however, all of them were sold out within the first hour. The collection included a raspberry spread in keepsake packaging, a raspberry spread without keepsake packaging, which is still not available to purchase, herbal lemon ginger tea, herbal peppermint tea, herbal hibiscus tea, her flower sprinkles, crepe mix, shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles included and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb.

Meghan's raspberry spread in keepsake packaging was priced at 14 dollars (£10.80), while her limited edition wildflower honey with honeycomb cost 28 dollars (£21.60). The spread without the packaging will become available later for 9 dollars (£7).Meanwhile, her flower sprinkles, which the duchess frequently used in her Netflix series, cost 15 dollars (£11.60).

The herbal teas—lemon ginger, peppermint, and hibiscus—cost 12 dollars (£9.30) each, and the crepe mix and shortbread cookie mix are both 14 dollars (£10.80).

Now a royal commentator who bought and tried all of Meghan's new products, minus the honey, gave a scathing four-word verdict and said they were "snobby, salty, superficially sweet".

The Daily Mail's Maureen Callahan, who is US-based and is often critical of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, said that Meghan's latest offering "overpromised and under-delivered".

After her "brief taste test", Ms Callahan blasted the duchess that her products are "outrageously priced" and "inedible".

She claimed Meghan's long-awaited raspberry jam was "sickly sweet" too runny and overpriced for its size.

She wrote: "The taste, also like our duchess, is sickly sweet, and the texture leaves a filmy coat on the tongue."

The commentator also criticised the keepsake packaging it came with, describing it as "basically a beige cardboard tube with hard plastic buffers glued inside".

Ms Callahan said that her crepe mix tasted like "undercooked pancakes" and was "bland" just like her shortbread cookie mix which "yielded cookies that tasted both a little too sweet and a little too salty, but ultimately lacked any distinctive punch".

The commentator was also left unimpressed with the three tea flavours, saying the hibiscus one lacked taste and the lemon and ginger one was "like hot water".

She concluded: "If Meghan envisions these teas as the perfect beverage to accompany her sweet treats, I'd suggest not pairing them but saving them to the end — especially the peppermint, which helps with what this taste test nearly induced in me: nausea."
