Prince William and Prince George were spotted together last night in France as they stepped out to watch Aston Villa play PSG in a crunch Champions League quarter-final match.
The Prince of Wales, 42, who is a big Villa fan, looked nervous throughout the game as he sat beside his eldest son. While royal fans were delighted just to see the father and son duo at the game, they were also ecstatic to see a sweet moment shared between the royals when Aston Villa scored. Although Villa ended up losing 3-1, their goal to go 1-0 up in the first half was met with a joy by Prince William, who quickly gave his son, 11, a massive hug and a kiss on the head. George, who was seen with his Aston Villa scarf cheering, seemed equally delighted with the goal as his dad embraced him.
After a video of the moment was shared on X, fans were quick to talk about the sweet moment.
One fan wrote on X: "Look at how Prince George is reacting to this embrace... some kids would be mortified and wiggle away, but he is relishing his Dad's excitement & hug."
Another said: "It is lovely to see and says so much about how close Prince William and Prince George are."
A third wrote: "Adorable father and son moment."
Prince William did not take Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, to the match, but said in an interview that his youngest children would be watching from home.
The prince has also been open on how he is not pressuring his children to support Aston Villa as he wants them to choose their own teams.
In a pre-match interview with TNT Sport, William said: “It's been 43 years since anything like this has happened in my generation as a Villa fan, and I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition.
“I hope it's not 43 years until the next time it happens. But I think those memories are really important to create and bring him along tonight is a big deal for me."
