Alex Jones has issued a significant announcement to her fans, informing them that her family has expanded. The BBC presenter revealed the news just months after she moved house after 11 years and then got a new Labrador dog named Scout. The 48-year-old Welsh star currently shares three children with her husband, Charlie Thomson. She has previously shared that balancing her work life on BBC's The One Show whilst being a mother has been "difficult" and that she "runs herself ragged."

Taking to Instagram, Alex revealed that she had some 'news' to share and is 'obsessed' with their new family member. She also said there would be 'no more vacancies', hinting that their family is now fully completed.

She wrote, "We have some news. Over the weekend, we picked up the newest member of the family, and we are all so in love—especially the children! Her name is Sabrina, named by @emmafreud after Sabrina Thwaite from the Archers, and we all agree that it suits her down to the ground. We are slowly introducing her to our other baby Scout, and he’s been amazing and so gentle. Thank you, Emma and Richard, for the most perfect little kitty Kat. We’re obsessed!" [sic]

Many of her followers couldn't help but react to the adorable news. One person typed: "I don’t blame you, she’s like a gorgeous wee fluffy slinky!" as a second person said: "So cute! Wait until she climbs up those curtains." A third also commented: "I, too, have a new cat named Sabrina!"

Last year, Alex welcomed a new dog into her family. At the time, the BBC host said it was a "complete surprise" and that she had fallen "head over heels" for her new Labrador puppy. She said on Instagram, "I’ve never had a dog before so any puppy advice would be most welcome."

In similar news, Alex has been open about mum guilt and leaving her children whilst she goes away for work. She said to Fabric Magazine: "I feel super guilty for leaving them [her children]. But I know that I do a job I love and a job that keeps the family afloat. So, I don’t know… I do sort of softplay in the morning and live telly in the afternoon, that’s kind of how my life goes.

"Literally I’m with them right up until the last minute before I need to hop in the car to come to work. And then I rush home to try and do their last story before they go to sleep. I haven’t got the solution – I just basically try and do it all."
