Stacey Solomon has announced that she is the proud mother of baby chicks. The former X Factor star took to social media to share the exciting news of bringing "new life" to her home in time for Easter. Stacey gave birth to her first child when she was just 17 and welcomed her fifth child in February 2023. She has been married to Joe Swash since 2022 and is mum to five children: Zach, Leighton, Rex, Rose, and Belle. In her Pickle Cottage home, she also owns two dogs named Teddy and Peanut and four ducks, who are all featured in her TV show, Stacey & Joe.
Uploading the sweet footage on Instagram, she wrote, "New life at pickle cottage. Honestly, this has been the most special, core memory-building day. Our chicks have started to hatch. It’s like watching real-life magic, and I’m so glad we decided to do this. What a special day. Four chicks and counting. Come on, babies. Happy Tuesday, Everyone… I hope this brightens up your day. Thank you, @sams_growingfood, for helping us every single step of the way…" [sic]
In the first video, two baby chicks walk for the first time as they emerge from their eggshells. Stacey then smiles alongside her two youngest daughters and embraces them as they watch the eggs hatch.
Many of her loyal followers flocked to the comments section to react to the happy news. One person said, "This is so exciting! Welcome to pickle cottage chicks!"
A second person also commented, "What a core memory. such special memories for the kids. Can’t wait to watch them grow." A third typed, "Omg this made me cry. We are going to hatch our own babies once we come back from our holibobs. Thank you for sharing xx."
Rose, born on Stacey's 32nd birthday at her home Pickle Cottage, is her fourth child. Her third child, Rex, was born in May 2019 and was the first child she had with Joe.
Stacey has previously said that she "would love more kids" and hasn't ruled out a potential sixth child. During an Instagram Q&A last year, she said being a mum is her "favourite thing in the world."
Answering a list of questions sent in by her fans, one person asked her if she was finished having babies. Stacey replied: "I can honestly say, my favourite thing in the whole wide world is being a mum.
"I just get so much joy from watching our little ones grow and getting to be a part of their world. I would love more. Whatever will be will be. But omg I love them. (Joe will be off to go and get a vasectomy when he sees this)."
