Kris Marshall, the 51-year-old star of Beyond Paradise, has expressed his willingness to revisit a beloved BBC show, but only if it's done correctly.

In an interview with Best UK, Kris discussed the possibility of reviving My Family, a show that catapulted him to fame. He stated: "My Family was great. If I were to reboot it, it would have to be in a situation where it really worked because Nick Harper was a character of his time."

Kris acknowledged that his age would be a factor in reprising his role, saying: "I was 27, but I was playing 19, so he was a youthful character. I'm not quite as youthful now, so it would have to be really special. But never say never!".

This isn't the first time Kris has reflected on the impact of My Family, which ended up making him a household name.

In a previous interview with the Guardian, he shared that the show's massive success, with 13 million viewers per week, led to him being consistently recognised in public.

Kris recalled: "It became more frequent after My Family – the show had 13 million viewers a week, and I would get recognised daily. Since then, it hasn't stopped, but I don't mind – it's a small price to pay for what is a wonderful job."

He also touched on how his life has changed since becoming a father, saying: "Now I'm a dad I've become more risk-averse, compared with the motorbike days. But I still enjoy extreme sports."

Many of Kris' fellow cast members from the beloved sitcom My Family – including Robert Lindsay, Zoe Wanamaker, Daniela Denby-Ashe, Siobhan Hayes, and Gabriel Thomson – have kept up their acting careers following the show's finale in 2011.

Robert Lindsay, 75, who portrayed Kris' on-screen dad, has remained particularly newsworthy. He recently made a heartfelt trip back to his roots in Derbyshire to pay tribute to a teacher he hailed as "truly extraordinary".

While visiting, Robert attended an exhibition honouring John Lally, a mentor from Gladstone Boy's School who had a profound impact on him.

Speaking to the BBC about his former teacher, Robert expressed deep gratitude: "I owe everything to him. Thankfully, he believed in me. I'd been told by my careers advisors and maths teachers that I'd never be employable."
