A Primark store was cordoned off on Monday evening after a woman died following a medical episode, police said. The incident reportedly occurred at the retailer's store in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Paramedics and police were called to branch on Market Place on Monday evening following concerns for the woman's welfare.
Witnesses reported seeing that a woman had fallen ill while inside the branch, as per Manchester Evening News. A cordon was established while emergency services responded to the incident.
An air ambulance rushed to the scene and landed on a nearby carpark, and North West Ambulance Service paramedics also attended, as per the outlet.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a 60-year-old woman had suffered a medical episode and was later tragically pronounced dead.
The force said there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
