Escape to the Chateau stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge have been inundated with messages from fans after sharing a family announcement on social media. The Channel 4 stars took to Instagram with an update about Angel's parents, Stephen and Jenny.
Angel, 46, is incredibly close to her parents, who moved to Canvey Island shortly after she was born. They began running a jewellery store and became prominent figures in the local community for decades, starting with Jewellery Paradise in the 80s and later launching the restaurant Flutes in 2004.
Stephen and Jennifer embarked on a new chapter when they retired, relocating to France to be with their daughter. Indeed, they settled not far from Angel and Dick's chateau, taking residence in a coach house on the expansive estate.
Receiving an influx of questions about her parents from fans, Angel has now issued an update on the duo, revealing they have spent the last month travelling.
Alongside a number of snaps of Stephen and Jenny on their travels, Angel wrote: "Hello to you on this super Sunday! Can’t wait to see these two when they arrive back at the Chateau next weekend just in time for Mothering Sunday!
"After a month travelling, three generations will be together again! Lots of you ask about Jenny & Steve…aka..mum and dad… It’s safe to say that after decades of hard work..
"Part one of retirement was being our unsung heroes of support here at the Chateau… Now they are truly living their best lives and making memories like they are going out of fashion!"
The couple's followers were thrilled to see Angel's parents as they flocked to the comments, with one writing: "Steve and Jenny, greetings and hugs from Salamanca, Spain. You are the best."
"So fab to see Jenny and Steve living it large," added a second as another penned: "Just the loveliest people. Met Jenny at the chateau last year and she is a darling lady."
A fourth echoed: "That's so nice seeing them having a fab time, well deserved."
Another posted: "Truly living their best life traveling the world, so happy for them. Wish Jenny and Steve all the best on their journey together."
Dick and Angel's parents live a stone's throw away from the home and while this may not be ideal for many son-in-laws, Dick has pointed out an obvious upside to the move. He confessed: "Angela’s parents live in the coach house, so we have the best childcare in the world which is an enormous help!" The couple share Arthur, born in 2013 and Dorothy, born in 2014.
