TV star Eamonn Holmes was scheduled to embark on a nationwide tour with his GB News co-star and friend Paul Coyte. Their show, Things We Like! with Eamonn and Paul, was first announced in December and was due to kick off on Friday, March 11. However, it has now been cancelled due to alleged disputes.
In December, the broadcaster took to Instagram to announce the tour, writing: “Coming your way soon and in theatres around the Country. Maybe the perfect last-minute Christmas gift.” However, despite initial reports that the tour was being cancelled due to low demand, insiders have revealed that the venue was actually to blame. A source told The Sun: “There was a disagreement with the venue about last-minute logistics, which meant it was impossible for it to run."
But with the tour now scrapped, the 64-year-old is said to be launching a new podcast, with plans to interview star-studded guests. An insider said: “Eamonn pulled the plug on that particular show, but he knows there will be plenty of other opportunities in the future. Eamonn is just cracking on with his new project and throwing himself into it. Over the past couple of months, Eamonn has been recording episodes with some massive stars for a brand-new podcast. It's really conversational - heartfelt, emotional conversations with different names there is someone for everyone."
The 65-year-old has been dealing with a series of setbacks recently including a number of health issues. The star underwent spinal surgery, a double hip replacement, and now uses a mobility scooter to get around. In an Instagram post last month he shared: “Even when the Sun shines there’s pain. Sometimes I feel I’ll never beat this disc immobility but I’m determined to have a life ….. so pray for me.”
Soon after, Eammon shocked the nation when he announced the end of his marriage to TV presenter Ruth Langsford, 65, in May last year after 27 years together. The Irish native has since moved on with her new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 43, while Ruth is enjoying a single life, having recently returned from a girls' trip abroad in celebration of her birthday.
Ruth and Eamonn have remained tight-lipped about their break-up and still wear their wedding rings, new reports reveal that the GB News star's actions led to the breakdown of their romance, with Ruth said to have been 'horrified' to overhear him having a cosy chat with another woman when he thought he was home alone. The Loose Woman star also reportedly found messages on his laptop, with The Sun reporting that the discovery was a "real kick in the teeth," as "Eamonn thought he was in the house alone while he was chatting on the phone".
