CCTV has been issued after an alleged "dine and dash" pair reportedly fled three restaurants. The footage shows two people dining in Agra Palace, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, before allegedly leaving without paying on March 22.
Owner Jamal Ullah said the woman left first, saying she was going outside for a smoke. The man left about four or five minutes later, with the pair heading off in a white car, according to Mr Ullah. He said the pair had racked up a £160 bill, including wine, lagers, "expensive" starters and mains. The owner said he should have spotted something was up because they had ordered so much, but he was so busy at the time.
Mr Ullah told The Sun the man had even asked him to keep an eye on his jacket while he went outside before they allegedly scarpered.
Five days earlier the same couple are alleged to have targeted the Red Lion in nearby Corley. A spokesperson for the pub told Coventry Live: "I'm angry and disappointed. They've clearly done it at many other places."
They claimed the couple come in, order, then pop in and out for a smoke, which makes staff think that when they do run they are just heading out for another ciggie.
The pub spokesperson alleged: "It's a thought-out plan they have. They had no intention of paying."
It was a Facebook appeal posted by Mr Ullah that then led other venues to claim they had been targeted by the couple too, including a third - The Bull & Butcher pub in Corley Moor, Coventry.
A Warwickshire Police spokesman told Coventry Live: "Enquiries are ongoing as officers work to identify the individuals involved."
