A street outside a London private school has been locked down as police respond to a stabbing on a night bus. Emergency services were called to Stratheden Road in Blackheath, Southeast London, at around 4:30am on Sunday morning, UKNIP reports. The incident is thought to have occurred at the road's junction with the A2, near The Pointers school.
Officers reportedly provided first aid to the victim of the stabbing before paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived at the scene. They were then rushed to a major trauma centre, where their current condition is unknown.
Police have cordoned off a stretch of Stratheden Road, with photos showing the night bus included in the perimeter. A heavy officer presence is in force at the scene, with forensic investigations underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Local buses have been diverted by authorities, with Transport for London routes 108, 286 and 335 taking alternative routes to avoid the closure between the B210 Vanbrugh Park and A2 Shooters Hill Road.
Residents have also been advised to avoid the area and check for travel updates before setting out on journeys.
The Express has contacted the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service for official statements.
